OK, let me to recall. We learned that the “hysteresis” (for a lack of better world) manifest itself on used tube only. Also, what I see in the images the one of the half of the used tube has more “hysteresis” then other. I think it leads to the follo...

I speak with people, receiving emails, read others comments here and there and I constantly surprised how the accidentally obtained and unreasonably interpreted data become a wide spared audiophile myths.
For instance there is a strong believe, wit...

Hi,
I liked the most when I drove the 6C33 plate with 230V. I run all possible currents and… surprise, surprise I ended up at 150mA.
I find the same true with other power triodes. When comparing operating conditions ...

Hi,
could I instead of trashing the tube to flip it to the left filament and continue to use the unused part of the cathode, plate and filament?
Sure you could.
Theoretically it might be the...

This is by Hans Beijner. His site is: http://www.tubetvr.com/In 1976 a Mig 25 fighter jet landed in Hokkaido in Japan, it was flown by a soviet military pilot that wanted to defect to the west. This was a real field day for western miltary peopl...

What would I do if I move to a much larger room and the power of Milq’s full 6C33C would not be enough? Surely it would be possible to go for transmission tubes but they all high plate impedance and high voltage. If I parallel all my bass drivers and...
I also wonder about the supposedly simple but ever mysterious procedure for matching 6C33Cs for gain. Presently, my amps are ~ 2 dB apart.
To do gain matching we need a way to measure gain. To be precise, we need to measu...
The HF channel of the Super Melquiades should be revised. Something is wrong in there and it does not sound as I would like to. It mostly relates to imp...

I do not know if Russians still make them. I do not think they do as they hardly manufacture anything nowadays. I presume that there a large stock of them in Russia as Victor Khomenko (from BAT) told that during the peak of the 6C33C production Russi...

I have no idea why this guy is and what he says, I even have no idea of what language it is but here it is: the 6E5P-6C33C amp in PP configuration.

Interesting that he uses Russian milita...
Hi,From Pieter:"For me it is normal practice to do good specifications. I go for 10 Hy's at 250mA. 10 Hy's with 512 ohms source impedance will give 8 Hz cut off frequency."
Dominik, when you get your transformer from Pie...
Ok, I just read your "Melquides Remote biasing". This technic can not be duplicate in my amp due to DC coupling, the C3G (I dont use 6E5P) driver stage basically adjust the 6C33C current in the output stage. Just for curiosity,...

New here, but I thought I would continue my 5+ year search for another pair of these sockets. I have all the parts to build a 6C33C OTL using 4 tubes and would like to find another pair of these. I have one pair that I happened upon late one night ...
On dynamic, the 6C33C tube showed its ability to go deep in the bass on Ray Brown trio recording of Soular Energy which is excellent for a 15W SE , the 845 amp can do better, but not by much, but probably because of its 25W ou...

After spending considerable amount on the hum problem, one way to fix it is tho remove transformer and place it in a different chassis, the noise level will improve more than 15 db to -74db. But that cause too much hassle, so I got it improved to 62d...

Few weeks ago, I had the chance to visit KOtriode and listen to his system but more specifically his Preamp. The preamp use half of the 6C33C per channel (one 6C33C has two triodes). It has two outputs, one is transformer coupled output, the other is...

Jessie-There are the current japanese teflon sockets, and vintage american manufactured sockets - I think either should be fine. The pin springs on the OEM pair I replaced had no grip or spring characteristics. When the pin holders are bent, they ...

It is sucks to live with Russians Tubes. It is particular sucks to live with 6C33C. They are all deferent when they new, they age very ungracefully and differently.
The life with Super Melquiades, where I use 6x6C33C driving individual channe...

I probably overwhelmed the readers of my site with the different aspect of the 6C33C but it is what it is. This site is my diary and reflects what is going on with me in audio. Here it comes… now I am frustrated to understand the 6C33C.
The next mys...

I keep receiving emails from visitors asking me about my views regarding the GM70 vs. 6C33C. I am clearly not in a position to provide any EXPERT opinion because of two reasons. First, I never had a properly built GM70 in my disposal. Second, I ...

I know that I ma a wacco, so extend patience while you read it.
I was cleaning my shelves and found a strong alnico magnet that left from my field-coil. Since the electromagnet driver project was over I was about to assemble the driver back and send...

The more I deal with 6C33C the more this tube amuses me. Couple years ago when I started to use a half of 6C33C for my upper frequency channels I wired right and left my Super Milq with half of 6C33C connected to right and left side of the tubes co...

Paul,
I do not have any reasons to say anything about bias regarding any other tubes beside the 6C33C.
The point that I was trying to make the most of the people out there do not have a proper load for this CE amplifiers. They feel that when thier...

Sine I informed public about Melquiades amplifiers I receive many emails from people asking me about the operation points of 6C33C. For whatever reasons people mistakably took me for some kind of 6C33C guru, which is am not. Moreover I could be hardl...
I am about 3 weeks away from supplying 3 Kz ohm to 4,8 & 16 ohm SE outputs for 300b or 2A3 tubes to George Wright, of Wright Sound, and Gary Pimm of Pimm CCS fame (constant current controls to buffer stages from each other ...

I used 6c33c at about 250V Vp, -100 Vg and it was good. Another important point for sound of tubes - the filament. I find out, that the sound at 6,0-6,1 V filament is preferable to the one at 6,3V. I simply add a series resitor for each socket....

OK, the amp is running for the 6C41C for a few days and it looks like the tube should be burned-in sufficiently enough for now. Still I have to note that the sound of 6C41C was not changed since my initial listening of this tube.
Originally I drove ...
... did anyone have an OK sounding amp with ½ 6C33C ...
The 6C33C has only one pin that connected to both plates. Since I use ½ of 6C33C in my MF and UpperBass channels then I theoretically burn just a hal...

Forgot to elaborate the Quad system. It is actually a tri-amp Quad system, below 100Hz is the Supravox 15in Field coil in open baffle, then it's a Stacked Quad ,and about 5Khz there were 5 RTR ESL cell. I did try the 6C33C amp in a single pair Quad by...
